Inglewood Primary School
NEWSLETTER No 02 - 23 February 2023
Our Mission:
Learning to think, to do, to be
Ako ki te whakaaro, ako ki te mahi, ako kia ora ai te mauri
Our Vision: To provide a teaching and learning environment where of those involved: demonstrate respect, expect the best, achieve through opportunity, communicate actively & feel good and safe
Term 1 is well underway, and I'm thrilled to be here! It's been a joy getting to know the children, families, and staff. The energy in our school is vibrant, with smiling faces all around. We firmly believe that happy children are more receptive to learning, and it's evident in our classrooms.
A quick reminder: we'll be closed for instruction on Friday, 8 March, as we spend the day engaging in collaborative learning as a Kāhui Ako.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your children arrive at school on time, well-rested, and eager to learn. Our teachers have been diligently working together to enhance our approach to teaching literacy, numeracy, and inquiry-based learning. We're staying updated on the 'hour a day' guideline for reading, writing, and maths while also emphasising the importance of authentic learning experiences. Whenever possible, we integrate these subjects into real-life contexts and other areas of the curriculum, providing a rich and balanced learning experience.
Exciting news: our pump track is nearing completion! Although it will temporarily be closed for approximately three weeks, we can't wait to see the enjoyment it brings to our students.
Wishing everyone a fantastic week ahead!
Juliet Vickers - Principal
Lines of Communication .
At Inglewood Primary School we believe in talking directly to the person who can solve the problem.
1. In most cases, the initial contact is an appointment with your child’s teacher.
2. If there is no resolution, then you need to make an appointment with the Team Leader.
3. After this point, you may need to make an appointment with a Deputy Principal.
4. At this stage, if any further action is required, they may refer you to the Principal
