Letter from the Principal
This week several of our St. Teresa students were able to see our government in action. Over 250 people from across the state of Illinois went to the State Capital in Springfield, to advocate for Empower. Students wrote letters, and spoke with Senators to tell them how important Empower is to our school. Our students were great representative of St. Teresa and I am extremely proud of them!
At St. Teresa we are always looking for ways to improve the security of our school. On November 22nd, St. Teresa was informed that our Grant for security was approved. We like to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Scott Credit Union for their generosity in donating $6,000 to upgrade our security cameras!
A lot is happening next week at St. T's...
Monday (12/5) & Tuesday (12/6) students will have fun shopping for family and friends at our Santa's Kottage. Thank you Perpetual Help for providing this for our students.
On Tuesday (12/6) & Wednesday (12/7) our students will be singing their hearts out at the Christmas Concert. We hope to see everyone there!!
This weekend, December 4th is Children's Mass at 11am and don't forget to stop by the St. Teresa School Cafeteria anytime from 10am-2pm for the Advent Family Fair.
Enjoy your weekend and as always we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership.
Sincerely,
Nicole Green
Principal

ADVENT
Hello Tiger Families,
Advent is upon us and we have already begun to observe this liturgical season at school. Wreaths have begun to appear in the classrooms, lessons are being taught during religion classes, and special Advent prayers and reflections are now part of our morning announcements. We reflect along with our students that Advent is a time of preparation. We prepare ourselves for the coming of Jesus by helping others, giving selflessly as Jesus did, and always striving to become the best version of ourselves.
Attached you will find a parent reflection on Advent with the outline of a wreath on the back. Each time a family member gives one of the “gifts” mentioned at the bottom of the page below the wreath, they are to write the good deed on a holly leaf, along with their initials. The goal is to fill up all the leaves by Christmas. Wouldn’t it be great to have completed so many good deeds that your family runs out of leaves to write on?
As we do our part at school to prepare your child for the coming of Christ, we ask that you set aside some special time for Jesus at home amid the hustle and bustle of this season. Consider adding extra prayer time into your nightly routine and hanging the “good deed” wreath on the refrigerator, where everyone can see it and add to it daily. We hope you are able to enjoy this time of preparation with your family and that you have a blessed Advent.
May God Bless you and your family during this Christmas Season.
Sincerely,
St. Teresa Faculty and Staff

Inclement Weather Plan
IS SCHOOL CLOSED?
Closure of St. Teresa School will be shared FIRST on the St. Teresa School website and on official St. Teresa social media within minutes of the decision.
For the 2022-2023 school year St. Teresa School will be following District 118 closure policy.
If District 118 is closed due to inclement weather, St. Teresa's will also be closed.
For the 2022-2023 school year there will be no "remote learning" days.
As children we all looked forward to the fun of a "snow day."
