The Howler
May Newsletter 2023-2024
Today is a Good Day to have a Good Day.
Dear Families,
May came at us......well....let's just be real...at WARP SPEED! This is our last Howler for this school year, and thank you for double checking it twice....and probably a good idea to double check what teachers are sending home, too.
We will send out a Howler for the first week of June with Back to School Dates and Times, Staffing Updates, and Classroom Location Changes.
Thank you for using the crosswalk on Sloan as well as at the entrance of our building. In the next few weeks, observations will be taking place for traffic patterns and adhering to traffic signs and crosswalks. It is expected that all students, with their families, utilize the crosswalks always. Although it has become acceptable to walk across Sloan with an adult at any crossing spot, it has become too dangerous for drivers and pedestrians. Also, the bus loop is to be utilized only by buses for the safety of our students and drivers.
Friendly reminder that we are live on Instagram! Search for Shadow Hills Elementary School as shadowhillswolves.
We appreciate you! Our Shadow Hills Families are amazing and your support doe not go unnoticed! With all of the year end activities we have planned, we look forward to seeing you at the school.
Sincerely,
The Shadow Hill’s Staff
Invite from our PTO and Shadow Hills Staff
Dear Families,
As we continue to grow and experience with our families the transition from elementary to junior high, we are inviting our new and existing families to join the PTO. Shadow Hills has years of experience demonstrating how "doing what is best for kids" involves everyone. Family involvement is one of the most powerful and rewarding supports for a child to have while in school. Involvement takes many forms and looks like many different things.
Please take a moment and read the attached letter from our PTO as well as look over the PTO Open Positions for the upcoming school year. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact Sarah Piotter or myself.
During my first year at Shadow Hills as the Principal, I am thankful for the support of our PTO and all of our families for many of the things we do that support what is best for kids. From the Food Truck Rally to the upcoming Field Day, I am amazed with the community that has been created and nurtured. The financial assistance that you provide for teachers as well as how you are recognizing all staff members next week during Staff Appreciation Week, we are very fortunate to be part of this Community.
We appreciate your consideration, and truly, don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
