A Note from Principal Sage
BMS Community,
This week, we will look to celebrate the learning communities that were created over this year. It has been an amazing year. Boeckman has an incredible staff that is dedicated to making positive connections with students daily. The learners that attend Boeckman are hands down the best! I can’t say it enough: I am so incredibly PROUD to be the principal at Boeckman Middle School!
As we enter the last week of school, we want to continue to offer parents the ability to write a Tiger Stripe to our staff. Tiger Stripes are a way of spreading gratitude, and our staff has sent over 10,000 Tiger Stripes this year to our community. As parents, your words and recognition of our staff mean a lot. Linked here is a quick way to send a message of thanks to an individual staff member.
We would like to ask for your help in reminding your student to follow our core values in the next few days and throughout the summer. Below are quick speaking points that you could use to help support our staff here at school:
Core Value: Be Responsible – Ask your student to continue meeting the expectations both in school and on the bus. Sometimes there can be a lot of energy, and it is important for students to remember to be responsible in all settings.
Core Value: Show Compassion – Ask your student how they can show gratitude to peers, staff members, and family members. Take time with your student to have them articulate what they are thankful for on a regular basis.
Core Value: Have Integrity – Ask your student how they stay focused throughout the day. Gentle reminders to your child about listening to adult directions and trusting their “gut” to do the “right” thing every day are always appreciated by our staff.
As we near the end of the school year, I would also like to draw attention to a few items regarding the 24-25 school year.
School Supplies
Save time and money on back-to-school shopping with a Sprout School Supply Kit. Custom kits matching our BMS Middle School supply lists can be ordered online now and will be delivered right to the school. Order now at sproutsupplies.com using School Code RBMS001.
Cell Phone Policy
The school board recently approved policy 1022 regarding personal technology use for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. We wanted to take a moment to let our families know how this will affect our learning communities moving forward.
Starting with the 2024-2025 school year at Boeckman and Dodge Middle Schools, cell phones will need to remain silent and kept out of sight during the school day. This will be from when students enter the building until they leave. More detailed information around procedures for the policy will be communicated from each building later this summer and into the fall.
24-25 Back to School Events
- August 27 - Open House (2 PM-7 PM)
- September 3 - First Day of School (6th Grade Only)
- September 4 - All Grades Attend
We have an incredible community of learners, parents, and staff. Thank you for all your partnership and support over the year. This will be the last newsletter of the 23-24 school year. You can expect a mid-summer update in late July/August. Be safe this summer and do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

If a student will be absent, a parent/guardian must call Boeckman Middle School’s attendance line at 651-460-1405 prior to 9:45 AM each day of the absence. We ask that parents/guardians provide the reason for the absence at the time they call. The school determines if the absence falls within the excused or unexcused parameters. If the school does not receive a call from the parent/guardian the day of the absence, the student’s absence is automatically unexcused.
