Principal Pinto's Message

Dear North Davis Families,

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Let's work together to encourage consistent attendance—it plays a key role in student success! Learn more about how you can help your student develop good attendance habits this school year.

At the September 5 board meeting, the Board of Education approved the fencing plans for NDE. While there is no set timeline yet, we'll be sure to keep you informed as more details become available.

Snacks & Breakfasts:
All grades have a morning snack recess, and we also offer a "Second Chance Breakfast" each day. Please note that each student is eligible for one breakfast.

It is important to discuss the breakfast and lunch menu with your student for the day before they come to school. Encourage them to pack their snack and lunch with you either the night before or in the morning. Students have a number of choices. We want them to be independent, make a decision, and stay with their choice. The serving area can be overwhelming. So, having this conversation with them will help keep the lunch line moving, and help them gain confidence.

Refillable Water Bottles:
With the warm weather, it's especially important that students stay hydrated throughout the day. Please send your child with a refillable water bottle, and don't forget to label it with their name in case it gets misplaced. We have water bottle refill stations throughout the school for their convenience.

Back to School Night is on September 11 at 5:45 PM. Just a reminder that this is a Parent-Only event, so kindly arrange for childcare. The schedule for the evening is included below.

Committees at North Davis

Site Council - We did not get any new members interested in serving on Site Council. All our members from the 2023-24 site council are eligible to serve another year. So, we would like to thank the following parents for agreeing to serve on site council for the 2024-25 school year: Emilia Wisniewski, Elisha Jackson, Jessica Huer, Kali Patterson- Doucett, Nicole Arnold. Climate Committee: A School Climate Committee is made up of parents, staff, and students who work with the principal to understand how it feels for the different students and families to be at a particular school. Using survey and other data, with the Principal, the Climate Committee develops ways to promote the Distrct's core values of student connectedness, and respect and a positive learning environment for all. This can include anti-bullying programs, parent education, student-led activities, and much more. For more information on School Climate please visit the Climate Services website. TK/K parents, please do not walk on the path in front of first grade classrooms after dropping off or picking up your student. Use the outer path as indicated by the blue arrows in the picture.

PTA Meetings

Upcoming PTA meetings include the first general PTA meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 17 from 6:30 to 8 PM in the MPR or online at https://meet.google.com/qry-tmyc-zug. The PTA is also holding a special meeting on Saturday, September 14 at Sudwerk Brewery from 3 to 5 PM to discuss and review the PTA budget. If interested in attending the special meeting, please contact president@ndepta.com.

Konstella

The PTA has purchased a license for Konstella, a communications platform that will be heavily utilized by the PTA and classroom representatives this year: (https://www.konstella.com/cd/QF5W4H). Konstella is being used for the following:

Dolphin Drive - Fundraising will be conducted through Konstella. A dolphin drive link for friends and family members without Konstella accounts is here: https://www.konstella.com/open/donations/66c026061b5c72a50348480a
Volunteering and Events - Committees for organizing school events (like the Jog-a-Thon, Halloween event, Auction, etc.) will be organized in Konstella, along with sign-ups for volunteers.
NDE Directory - The directory is available to those with Konstella accounts. When creating a Konstella account, you may enter your phone number, email address, and physical address, and clear options on whether to share that information with other NDE users. If you select "no", that information will not be included in the NDE Directory. The directory can be accessed at any time in Konstella:
