Middle School Highlights
Middle School students celebrated the character trait of KINDNESS this month. We brought items to donate to the Reardan Foodbank and helped the high school win the coveted Golden Plunger in our annual Winterfest competition against Davenport. We celebrated Kindness by completing Kindness Bingo cards to attend the PBIS end of the month celebration where we recognized students who were especially kind with awards and prizes before decorating sugar cookies, drinking hot chocolate, playing games and watching a fun holiday movie.
We thank you for sharing your amazing students with us and hope that you have an amazing holiday season. We will see students back at school on Tuesday, January 7th. We are in the last few weeks of first semester. Second quarter ends on January 24th. Please have your student show you their grades in Skyward and make a plan to finish the semester strong.

Security Update
Hi Everyone,
Merry Christmas. This week is a safety bulletin for everyone about QR code scamming. The other day I was downtown paying for parking and used the convenience of a QR code on the sign. While most see how handy this is, it got my brain going to a worse case scenario. After doing research I learned that scammers are using carefully crafted stickers of their own QR code to cover up the legit ones, in order to get you onto their own fake website. This spoofed site will often look legit, but it isn’t. They can either steal the information you enter, steal your money, or even place malware on your device and steal information without you even realizing it.
Places to be aware:
Parking lots/ meters
Restaurants
Concert or sporting venues
Airline flights
Fake text messages (such as generic messages of package not delivered or problem with your account)
How to protect yourself:
Inspect QR codes
Inspect links when opened
Don’t open texts or emails from unknown mailers
SCRATCH (don’t sniff) a QR code to ensure it is not a sticker
Never give out your passwords
Merry Christmas and Stay Safe Over the Break!
