The Boeckman Buzz

A Note from Principal Sage
BMS Families,
We had an exciting week at BMS and are looking forward to another one upcoming!
Students are invited to join us for Turkey Bingo on Thursday, November 21, from 3:30 to 4:45 PM! To participate, students should bring a non-perishable food item. Concessions will be available for purchase during the event. This fun afternoon of bingo, prizes, and school spirit is a great way for students to connect and contribute to our community. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
We would like to thank everyone who helped make our 7th Grade Courage Retreat a success! This week our 7th graders participated in the Youth Frontiers Courage Retreat, a powerful experience designed to inspire students to act with courage in their daily lives. Through engaging activities, heartfelt discussions, and team-building exercises, learners explored how to overcome fear, stand up for what is right, and create a positive school community. This retreat encouraged students to build stronger relationships and embrace their ability to make a difference. It was a memorable day of growth, connection, and empowerment!
Our Tiger Leadership Club recently went through and organized all of our lost and found. This is a large pile! It has been set out on a table near our lunchroom for the past two weeks. We will leave this up for one more week before donating the items. If you would like to go through the items, please reach out to the main office.
I would like to highlight that our learners have done an incredible job with the new cell phone policy at BMS! As always, it is important for us to remind our learners of it as we advance through the school year. It is referenced below to speak with your child about!
We are looking forward to another great week at BMS!
-Joe Sage, Principal
Cell Phone Policy
The school board recently approved policy 1022 around personal technology use for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond. We wanted to take a moment to let our families know about how this will affect our learning communities moving forward.
Starting with the 2024-2025 school year at Boeckman and Dodge Middle Schools, cell phones will need to remain silent and kept out of sight during the school day. This will be from when students enter the building until they leave. More detailed information around procedures for the policy will be communicated from each building later this summer and into the fall.

Ensure you have a plan for all possible emergency closure situations (late start, early release, or flexible learning day) and that your contact information is up to date with your child’s school
