From the Principal's Desk
Dear Owyhee Families,
Happy New Year and welcome back! We hope you all had a wonderful and restful holiday break, filled with special moments and joyful memories. As we kick off 2025, we are excited to embark on a new semester full of learning, growth, and opportunities for our students.
The start of the year is always a time to reflect, set new goals, and renew our commitment to achieving greatness together. We are looking forward to the exciting projects, memorable events, and achievements that await us in the coming months.
Hereโs to a bright and successful second semester as we work together to transition and leave lasting memories together!
Warm Regards,

๐ Book Club! ๐
THE SASQUATCH ESCAPE: The Imaginary Veterinary
We are very excited about Book Club at Owyhee starting this month! On Tuesday, January 7th we will have a kick off assembly to announce our book, "The Sasquatch Escape: The Imaginary Veterinary," and talk about all of the fun things associated with book club.
All students in 1st - 6th grades will receive their own copy of the book. Teachers will be reading it aloud with their classes over the period of one month and our Pre-K students will be making their own Sasquatch Escape picture book!
To make it even more awesome, all month there will be several fun "Bigfoot" related activities that the students can participate in and are sure to enjoy.
This is going to be lots of fun. Thank you Mr. Gagnepain (Mr. G) for all of your hard work in organizing such a fun opportunity for the students!

Safety Patrol Needs Your Support!
In correlation with Book Club, we are having a Bigfoot Raffle Fundraiser! All proceeds will benefit the fantastic Safety Patrol Program headed by Mr. G. If you are interested in participating, raffle tickets for purchase will be sent home with students. Tickets will also be available at the Owyhee front office.
Tickets are $5 each or you can get five for $20. Please send raffle tickets and cash or check back to school with your student. Checks can be written to Owyhee Elementary.
The drawing will take place on Friday, February 7th, you do not have to be present to win. First prize is an 18 inch Bigfoot and the 2nd prize is a 12 inch Bigfoot. They are beautifully handmade from quality hardwood by Mr. G! If you'd like, you can come check them out in the lobby at Owyhee. But be careful, Bigfoot has been spotted in the school (there are footprints to prove it) and we don't want him to escape!
We are so excited! This is going to be lots of fun.
Raffle information in the flyer below. If you have additional questions, you can call the front office 208-854-5850, or email tracy.meunier@boiseschools.org - Thank you for your support!
