The San Marcos Knights football team has an overall record of two wins and one loss. The Knights opened up the season against powerhouse Mount Miguel. That game ended in a twenty eight to twenty seven loss. With seconds ticking down in fourth quarter the Knights went for the win attempting a two point conversion. A pass fell incomplete closing out the season opener but ensuring the 2025 season will be an exciting one. The Knights followed up the next week with a commanding forty five to fourteen win against Tesoro High School. Last week the San Marcos traveled to Poway and left with a forty five to twenty eight victory. Homecoming is scheduled for September 19th. Come out and see the team as they take on San Pasqual High School.

The Lady Knights Flag football team has started off the year with a record of five wins and three losses. Avocado league play has just started. This season promises to be exciting as the girls compete against some of the best teams in the county in. Come out and watch the team compete as they host Ramona High School on Thursday, September 19th at 6PM. Go Knights!

San Marcos Knights Field Hockey has been a consistent power in San Diego County. We are proud of the level of competition and commitment our team displays on a annual basis. The Knights have started off the season with an impressive record of six wins and no losses. With wins over Cathedral Catholic and University City the season looks promising. Come out and see the girls take on Rancho Buena Vista HIgh School on Tuesday, September 23rd at 6PM. Go Knights!

Girls Volleyball continues to be a power in San Diego County. With great coaches and athletes, consistency and high expectations are how our Girls Volleyball program represents San Marcos. The Knights have a current record of ten wins and five losses to start the year. Come see the girls as the begin league play on Wednesday, September 24th at 5:30PM.

This year we had a great turnout for girls tennis. There are twelve varsity athletes and sixteen JV athletes. At this early stage in the season the team has one win and three losses. The girls had a commanding victory against the Mission Hills Grizzlies taking the match seventeen to one. The girls will be on the road next Wednesday, September 17 at Fallbrook High School. Go Knights.

The boys cross country team, led by Dean Odom is currently ranked first in Valley league and third overall in San Diego and thirteenth in the state in Division one. The 2025 boys team is already the best boys squad in our school’s history. Dean Odom just set a school and district three mile record by running fourteen minutes and twenty two seconds. The girls cross country team is led by Caroline Plastridge and Taylor Maple. They are currently ranked third in Valley league. The cross country team’s next race is this Friday, September 12th at Kit Carson Park. GO Knights!

Our Varsity Girls golf team is off to a great start, winning their first two matches and are in 7th place in the CIF D1 Rankings. Sophomore Catherine Shi is the low scorer of the team, currently the 5th ranked individual in the county.

Boys Water Polo has been working hard as they compete against some of the top teams in their division. Next week the Boys Water Polo team will be competing against Clairemont High School at Mesa College on Friday September 19th at 6:45 PM. Come out and see the guys as they play one of the most physically demanding sport there is. Go Knights!
