JANUARY IS SCHOOL BOARD APPRECIATION MONTH
These hard-working public servants give their time, energy, and effort in working toward our mission of every student being known, loved, and learning in our school district.
THANK YOU SCHOOL BOARD!
Elementary Highlights
Help Keep Our Students Fueled for Success!
We are seeking donations of snacks for our elementary students to ensure they stay energized and ready to learn throughout the day. Suggested items include individually wrapped snacks such as granola bars, cheese sticks, Goldfish crackers, applesauce pouches, Nutri-Grain bars, and protein bars. Your generosity can make a big difference in supporting our students’ focus and well-being. Donations can be dropped off at the elementary office. Thank you for supporting our kids and community!
Reminders:
Cold Weather
As the colder months settle in, please ensure their children come to school dressed appropriately for outdoor activities during cold weather. We strive to provide students with fresh air and playtime outside whenever possible. Please send your child with a warm coat, gloves, a hat, and other necessary winter gear to help them stay comfortable and safe during recess and outdoor activities.
Electronics Reminder
Students should not bring electronics, such as tablets, Smart watches or gaming devices, to school. Additionally, cell phones must be put away by 7:45 a.m. and remain stored during the school day. This helps minimize distractions and ensures a focused learning environment for all students. Thank you for your support!
P.I.E. Updates:
Popcorn Friday is next week, January 31st.
Remember, Popcorn Fridays will now take place on the second and fourth Friday of every month.
Save the Date: Daddy-Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, February 8 in the Commons. Please follow the Reardan P.I.E. Facebook page for more information.
Sixth-grade students worked together to divide a decimal by a whole number in Mr. Baldwin's math class.
Elementary students had the opportunity to learn about caring for pigs through presentations by Bryson Flaa and Amelia Ray. Following the presentations, students were excited to meet Amelia's pigs in person.
Middle School Highlights
Students in MS PE classes have been sharpening their line dancing skills. Coach Nik has been teaching line dancing using the HS gym’s big screens. Students will get to put their dancing skills to the test at the PBIS end of the month celebration where Stacy Burtenshaw, Reardan Bus Driver and all around SuperWoman, will lead our students in line dancing among other activities. Students need to have ALL of their assignments completed for the month of January and no major office referrals in order to qualify for the activity on January 31. We will also celebrate students exhibiting the character trait of Cooperation, Bus Riders of the Week for January, and draw winners from the Reardan Pride Card Bucket.
Middle School students had fun helping with Junior Cheer Camp this week. Coach Ashley Martin did a fantastic job organizing and leading the high school Cheer Team with this much loved tradition. What a way to grow our team.
Science classes are studying adaptation and genetics this week and had fun participating in a hands on activity that showed how species adaptation affects genetics.
Kristy Koch’s ELA classes are discussing their favorite novels and Ms. Koch has been creating the coolest visual representation of the students’ favorites. They are on display outside her classroom, and have led to engaging conversations with students debating their favorites and being inspired to read others’ favorite books. Added to this, the Reardan Staff wrote recommendations of THEIR favorite books from middle and high school, and these can also be found in the HS hallways. We love the excitement and enthusiasm being generated with the goal of creating lifelong readers. Thank you Ms. Koch!
High School Highlights
Dear Parents and Students,
We’ve had a fantastic week, and I’m so proud of the hard work and dedication our students have been showing. As we approach the end of the quarter, it’s more important than ever to encourage students to finish strong and stay on top of their classwork and assignments. A strong finish to this quarter will help set the stage for success as we head into the next one.
In addition, I’m seeking input from parents who are interested in sitting on an advisory committee. This committee will help guide how we approach conferences in the spring, and I would truly value your insights and perspectives. If you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to email or call me.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to partnering with you as we work together to help our students succeed!

Plans After High School:
"I plan to attend college in Odessa, Texas, where I’ll ride bulls on the rodeo team and major in welding."
Favorite Memory of High School:
"One of my favorite memories is being a wrestling manager for the high school team back when I was in middle school."
Advice for Younger Students:
"Put your head down and do your work."
Teacher/Staff Members Who Made an Impact:
"Mr. Dorrell has been a big influence on my life. Even though I only had him in class for one year, he always shared advice that I could use in my everyday life.
Roxane Sisis has also had a huge impact on me—she’s taught me manners, helped me get through high school, and been more than just a teacher. She feels like a second mom, and I’ve been lucky to spend the first part of my day with her."
Congratulations, JC! Best of luck as you take on bull riding, welding, and all your future endeavors in Texas! #SeniorSpotlight #Classof2025 #FutureWelder

Plans After High School:
"After high school, I plan on attending college and eventually getting into nursing school."
Favorite Memory of High School:
"Some of my favorite memories are the adventures I’ve gone on around the school with my best friends, especially when we got to sneak out of class!"
Advice for Younger Students:
"Take every opportunity for an adventure. Remember—it’s just high school; it’s not that deep. Leave the dramatics behind, and don’t take criticism from people you wouldn’t go to for advice."
Teachers/Staff Members Who Made an Impact:
"Mr. Dewalt has impacted my life in so many ways. His positive and goofy attitude always lifts my spirits, and his comforting advice has meant a lot to me. Sometimes, just knowing he’s happy to see me is all I need.
Mr. Smedley, though strict, has taught me valuable life lessons and somehow manages to put up with my friends and me when we’re being chaotic. He’s always there to listen and help, even if I’m not in his class.
Christina in the office has also been a huge part of my year. I’ve spent a lot of time with her, and I’ve loved our conversations about everything and anything. Her kindness and support mean so much to me."
Congratulations, Ally! Best of luck in college and on your journey to becoming a nurse! #SeniorSpotlight #Classof2025 #FutureNurse
