Welcome back, everyone!

What an exciting and busy start to the school year it has been! The halls are once again filled with the energy of students and staff, and it’s been truly wonderful to see so many smiling faces. The spirit and enthusiasm here at Trenton High School are contagious, and we are so proud of how quickly everyone has settled into the new routine.

As we embark on this journey together, we are excited about the learning and adventures that lie ahead. There’s so much in store for this year, and we look forward to seeing the growth, achievements, and memories we’ll create as a school community.

Here’s to a fantastic year at Trenton High! Go Tigers! 🐾

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Truth and Reconciliation Week will take place from September 23-27, 2024. THS recognizes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – aka Orange Shirt day on September 30th. It is important that we honour this day and acknowledge the impacts done by residential schools in Canada. Through out the month of September and beyond, our school community will continue to learn about Indigenous culture; the resilience of Indigenous peoples and the reclamation and cultural resurgence that is happening amongst Indigenous people.

Parent Volunteer Forms

Welcome back to a new school year! We're excited to dive into another year of learning and community spirit. If you're interested in volunteering or need to complete a vulnerable sector check, forms are now available in the main office. Feel free to stop by to pick them up and get involved. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

No Student Drop-Off Before 7:45 am

A friendly reminder to all families: please ensure students are not dropped off at school before 7:45 a.m. The only exception to this policy is for sports teams with scheduled practice, where prior supervision arrangements have been made. Please note that Intermediate students must report directly to the intermediate wing upon arrival to school. Grade 7 and 8 students are not permitted in high school hallways at any point during the school day, unless accompanied by their classroom teacher. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and organized environment for all students.

Attendance

Regular attendance is key to academic success. At THS, we take attendance seriously and work hard to support our students to attend class everyday; on time and prepared for the learning. We know that students who attend school regularly are at greater chance of experiencing academic success. Please make sure to notify the school using our SafeArrival App or calling the front office to report an absence, late arrival, or early pick up. You can expect early interventions from educators, admin, and our front office staff if we see attendance concerns with your student.

Early Bird Report Cards for Secondary Students

Early Bird Report Cards for Secondary students will be sent home on October 10, 2024. The focus of the early bird report is on your student’s learning skills and work habits, attendance, progress and assignment completion. New this year, teachers are expected to report on the level of distraction your student might demonstrate in class. Please be sure to ask your student about their Early Bird report card. Take some time with them to review their progress and discuss next steps.

Fall Extracurriculars at THS

Fall athletics and clubs are underway, get ready to show your Tiger pride. Whether you're into running, kicking, tackling or school leadership opportunities, there's something for everyone. Our current fall sports include: Football, Girl’s Rugby, Golf, Intermediate and Secondary Cross Country, and Intermediate Soccer. Student Council is up and running and Student Voice will be underway shortly. Keep an eye out for more upcoming extracurricular opportunities to participate in. Talk to your coaches and teachers about how you can get involved.

Updated Email Address and Parent Information

As the school year kicks off, we want to remind you to closely review all information sent home in our parent information "Superforms." These forms contain essential details about your student’s school year, so it’s important to ensure that all information is accurate.

Please take special care to verify that the email addresses and phone numbers we have on file are correct and up to date. This will help us stay in touch with you throughout the year and ensure you receive important updates and communication.

Thank you for your attention to this, and we appreciate your partnership as we work together for a successful school year!
