Boeckman Staff Newsletter
November 24th, 2024
A Note from Joe...
BMS Family,
I want to take a moment to thank all of the staff that supported Turkey Bingo. As always, it was a great turnout. We collected lots of canned goods that will be donated to a variety of places to support our community.
The end of the first trimester is on November 27th. This will be a natural time for families to check their student’s learning progress in Campus. We will be sending out messaging to families to check in on the learning progress around the December 6th newsletter. If you need help with updating learners’ Competency Learning Levels in Campus, Tim Schlatter and Jenn Logan Allen will be available Tuesday, November 26th and Tuesday, December 3rd from 8-8:30 in the Media Center to provide support
Each year around this time I look to share the following message. Short weeks often bring a buzz of excitement to our school! As we approach the holiday break, it’s important to remember that while many of us are eagerly anticipating time with family, some of our learners may find the change in routine and extended time away from school challenging. This shift can lead to changes in behavior, so let’s lean into strategies that work: highlighting and celebrating positive behaviors tied to integrity, responsibility, and compassion. This is a huge strength with our team at BMS and one that will help our learners tremendously going into break.
As we prepare for the break, let’s remind learners how much we care about them, that we’ll miss them, and how excited we are for their return. These small gestures strengthen connections and foster trust. It’s also a great time to double down on recognizing learners with Tiger Stripes!
To our incredible BMS staff: Dan and I are so grateful for each of you. Serving as Principals alongside such a dedicated team is a privilege we deeply value. Over the break, we hope you take time to rest, recharge, and enjoy moments with your family and friends!
There will not be a newsletter next week due to the long weekend.

Trimester 1 ends Wednesday – We are approaching the end of the first trimester. 8th graders will have new trimester 2 classes starting after this week. Teachers impacted by this have received an email from Dan with directions around posting grades. The grading window for these teachers is open from November 25 to December 9.
Emergency Planning – With the start of trimester 2, please consider reviewing the slide deck (linked here) with expectations for learners and staff during different drills. We will continue with lessons and reviewing these expectations throughout the year.
Infinite Campus Updates – Thank you for continuing to provide feedback to learners on their progress in demonstrating the competencies outlined in your course. Each week, you should have dedicated time to update Infinite Campus within your Pacing & Communication team time. As a reminder, we will make a push to encourage our families to check on the progress of learners five times throughout the year. The next date is December 6. Jenn Logan Allen and Tim Schlatter are available to help throughout each week and will be available on the Flex Day as well.
