Thoughts from Dr. Cohen

I want to thank our PTO for organizing an amazing Color Run. It was great seeing our kids and families having fun on a beautiful afternoon. We hosted families for a variety of events last week, including our first Parent learning Walk. What our week showed us is that we are working towards bringing a more holistic approach to our educational program at Harmony. We are supporting the development of a strong culture of thinking and learning, while not ignoring the fun we need to have once in a while. We are welcoming our district leaders to celebrate our growth and the performance rating we achieved this week in a special banner assembly. A special guest will also be joining us in the celebration. Next week, we have two nights of parent/teacher conferences, and finally our Fall Break. Our first quarter will quickly come to a close, and I just wanted to communicate that we are right where we need to be and moving in the right direction.

Strengthening our bodies as well as our minds

What a week of activity! In addition to the color run this week, our girls on the run team is now in full swing. Our athletics teams also played hard this week with both A and B boys volleyball teams winning against Aurora West and Aurora Frontier respectively. Our girls soccer A team put up a draw at 2-2 and the B team won 3-0.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is bursting at the seams. If your student is missing something, please take a look. Help make it easier to get your student back their items. Label everything! Anything not picked up by Fall break will be donated.

Kiss and Go lane

Please continue to go to the roundabout and enter the kiss and go lane correctly. It is a little bit that means so much for out kids.

There is a chill in the air

Pumpkin decorating contest

Our very own Ms. Bri will be hosting a 5th Grade Book Character Pumpkin Decorating Contest.

Students will compete by decorating (not carving) pumpkins to win prizes. More info can be found in class, at the library, or on the library website: https://sites.google.com/aurorak12.org/harmonyridgelibrary/home

After school snack sales

5th grade is selling snacks afterschool to help offset the payment for their Calwood trip. Everything is $1.00. They will be selling at the kiss and go lane and at the bus stop pick up area.
