We have settled into a groove!
I am finding more ways for our 6th graders to be leaders around the school. They are making the Monday school wide announcements. This week they also helped create and present our school wide "Welcome Back to School" assembly.
Our District is taking a different approach to how we teach spelling. Gone are the days of a spelling list going home and a spelling test on Fridays. Please take a moment to learn about this approach. Please reach out to your classroom teacher if you have questions. See the link below.
Please be respectful of where you park in the neighborhoods when dropping off or picking up your children. I have had some complaints about parking in a cul de sac and the congestion this brings for the residences.
Over the last two years the attendance at back to school night has been very low. Our leadership team decided that we will not be holding this event this year. By now, the teachers have sent home and will continue to send home their expectations. Please reach out to the classroom teacher if you have questions or need clarification.
Thanks for all your support to make this school year a success.
Kelly Anne

Hello, I am Amanda Hawkes, your student’s school counselor—I am looking forward to this new school year at Pierce Park Elementary. My priority is to help each child grow in their confidence as a kind, capable student!
This is my 4th year as an elementary school counselor in the Boise School District and I love what I do! I grew up in Boise and, after receiving a B.S. in Sociology from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT, moved back to Idaho to study counseling. I obtained my M.A. in Counseling at Boise State University and love being back in the area. When not at school I enjoy reading, cooking, nature walks, and spending time with my friends and family.
While at school, you can see me greeting students in the hallway, promoting positive relationships and helping resolve conflicts at recess, and providing support in many other settings around the building. Every other week I am in your student’s classroom teaching lessons centered on academic success, personal and social success, safe choices, and future planning. I offer a variety of small group experiences and am available for both parent and individual students meetings
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please email or call to set up an appointment when I am in the building--Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. I would love to work with you to help your student meet their goals!
Looking forward to a great year!

Hello from the Health Office!
I’m Nurse Jenn- I’m new to Pierce Park Elementary this year, and I’m so excited to get to know all of the kids. I’ve been an RN for more than 20 years, twelve of those years were in Pediatrics. I absolutely love my job, and I’m looking forward to working with our students to help them stay healthy and safe.
A little more about me- I am a mom to three great kids, a Girl Scout troop leader, and I'm very crafty. I like to do all sorts of crafts- you could say I'm multi-craftual!
I am here all day on Mondays & Wednesdays. When I am not on campus, our wonderful Health Technician Ms. Jojo helps take care of the students.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can be of any help to your kids or family, or if you have any questions or concerns about your child's health.
Looking forward to a great year!
