A Message From the Principal - Welcome Back!
Dear State Street Families,
We are excited to provide continuous updates before our kiddos head back to school! Just so you are aware, we will plan to send a family newsletter the first and third Monday of every month. We want to ensure our families remain informed about all of the awesome things happening this year at State Street! On Thursday, August 8th from 4:30-5:30, we will have our Meet the Teacher night! Your classroom teacher will be revealed in an email from the teacher introducing themselves and welcoming your student to their classroom. Be sure to check your emails on Wednesday, August 7th so you know which classroom to report to on our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday! This is the BEST time of year and we cannot wait to see all of our Stars return to school. This year, we adopted a new Social Emotional Curriculum called Character Strong. Below, we have attached a family newsletter for you to familiarize yourself with the kinds of lessons we will be taking our students through this year to help them learn and acquire social emotional skills. We are excited about this new program because it has a lot of wonderful resources! All Kindergarten students return on Monday, August 12th. Then, on Tuesday, August 13th our 1st-5th graders will start school. PreK students start on August 21. One last important item, please ensure you let your student's teacher know how they will get home every day from school. We know the first day may be different from the rest of the school days and teachers need to have information for those days so that they can ensure they dismiss your student with the correct group at the end of the day. We appreciate your support in this task before all students return to school. The countdown is on and we are EXCITED!
Sincerely,
Paige Roberts

Early Pick-up
When picking students up early please be aware that anytime away from school is recorded. Picking students up early multiple times can affect attendance. Our school day ends at 3:40. Students may be excused early for appointments, but a parent/guardian must check-in at the office and sign the student out. Students will only be dismissed from class after someone checks them out of the office first. This ensures that we keep our students safe.
Meeting With Staff
We ask that you call to make an appointment with a teacher or staff member in the event that you need to meet with him/her in person. Our teachers and staff utilize every minute of the day to benefit our students, so it is important to respect their instructional time by minimizing distractions. If you need to visit with a principal, teacher, or other staff member, please call the office at 235-7280, and a meeting time will be set up that will be most convenient for everyone.
